On 22nd of July, Barka’s representative, Włodzimierz Płacewicz, took part in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Justice, Michał Woś in Warsaw. The meeting concerned the cooperation between Barka Foundation and British prison services in Great Britain.
The study visit of representatives of British prison services to Poland being organised by Barka UK in October 2022 were also discussed.
The purpose of the study visit will be to learn about the Polish prison system and good practices in the field of social and professional reintegration of people leaving the prisons. Barka Foundation would like to establish closer cooperation between the British Home Office and organisations from Poland and Great Britain, in the new legal, economic and social conditions after Brexit.
The British delegation will visit, among others social enterprises and Social and Professional Integration Centres run by the Barka Mutual Aid Foundation network and partner organisations in Poland.
